Trousers or pants are clothing worn on the lower part of the body, usually from the waist to the ankle with separate covering for both legs. They are made from a wide variety of materials, but the most common are those that are made with denim.
Denim trousers or pants are called jeans. They were originally made for the U.S. Army and for working people because they were very durable. Today, people from all walks of life, gender, and age groups wear jeans. Jeans have several different styles or fits.
There are straight, tapered, bootcut, flare, skinny, and slim jeans. Skinny and slim jeans are two of the most popular styles or fits today. They are made from stretch denim fabric that conforms to the form of the body.
Slim jeans are form fitting. But while it hugs the body, it still has room to make it comfortable to wear. Its leg pattern can be slightly tapered or opens to a wider bootcut opening. It is patterned in such a way that it fits tighter at the seat and thigh which eliminates the appearance of bagginess.
Although slim jeans are usually made from stretch denim fabric, it also comes in fabrics that are non-stretch like cotton. It has a full front opening and more room for the hips and thighs. It is closer to a regular fit and is very comfortable to wear.
Skinny jeans, on the other hand, have a closely tapered leg pattern that contours to the body. It is made from a combination of cotton denim and Lycra or spandex fabrics as well as stretch denim. The combination allows the fabric to return to its regular state after stretching without having the appearance of bagginess. It is made in such a way that it adapts to the body’s curves or shape. It clings like a second skin especially around the thigh, knee, and leg with a tapered pattern. It gives the impression of longer legs and is tight on the body.
Both jeans are form fitting, but slim jeans are cut slimmer at the thigh all the way down to the legs while skinny jeans are cut even slimmer than slim jeans from the thigh down to the legs making it look skinnier.
