     The White House, is also one of the most haunted houses in the world. Hell…. even President Harry Truman wrote to his wife that, and quote, “the damned place is haunted sure as shootin. ”


    One of the most frequently reported White House ghosts is that of President Abraham Lincoln… Most notably when Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill, had finished bathing, he noticed a strange figure standing by the fireplace… and it was none other than Abraham Lincoln. First Ladies Jacquie Kennedy and Ladybird Johnson, presidential children Susan Ford and Maureen Reagan have also witnessed Lincoln standing by the same fireplace where Churchill had once seen him.

    Various other apparitions have also been seen, including past employees, Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Tyler, First Lady Dolley Madison, British soldiers, and Anne Surratt. Employees of The White House have also experienced sudden cold spots, disembodied footsteps, voices, knocks, and screams.

    The ghost of Abigail Adams (wife of John Adams) has been seen floating through the East Room

    The Lincoln Bedroom


    The most haunted place in The White House is the Lincoln Bedroom. Along with the numerous sightings of Lincoln…. guests and employees have reported lights in the bedroom turing themselves on, and inexplicable cold spots will occur in the room.

    Numerous White House employees have seen or heard Jackson in the room, often engaged in hearty laughter or swearing violently.

    The East Room


    Abigail Adams’ ghost is often seen in or en route to the East Room with her arms outstretched, as though carrying a laundry basket.
