One of the world’s most dangerous hiking trails resides in China and was carved by monks, nuns, and pilgrims leading to the mountain’s peak. Mount Hua, or Hua Shan, or Xiyue, is a mountain located near the city of Huayin in Shaanxi province and is one of China’s Five Great Mountains.
It has been a place of religious importance since the 2nd century BCE. The gargantuan mountain’s elevation measures in at 7, 087 ft. all the way up to its peak. The precipitous tails allow access to the mountain’s five summits which form the shape of a flower.
It’s become a tourist attraction and not surprisingly holds a reputation for fatal falls although this doesn’t keep thrill-seekers from flocking to the esteemed holy land.
